Originally named the Canadian hairless, the sphynx got its start in Toronto Canada in 1966 when a litter of domestic shorthair kittens included a hairless kitten as a result of a naturally occurring mutation. Her name was Prune.
Sphynx cats are known for their friendly demeaner and cuddly nature. They have a somewhat wedge-shaped head with large eyes and ears, long legs and tail, and rounded paws. Their skin is soft and warm to the touch, with a similar texture to a soft peach or smoth nectarine.
Their temperament is curious, energetic, cuddly, intellegent, affectionate, and extroverted.
